One of the few decorating projects that received an enthusiastic thumbs-up from my wife. They look and work perfectly. Three years of four-season weather and everything is fine. The boat is cooler in the sun; affords convenient portlight privacy and I no longer fool with moldy hatch covers.

After having all of our windows covered with the peek-a-booo shutters, we just had the hatches covered. Our boat looks great! We have a 1996 Gemini 105M catamaran. Since we live in SC, it can get really hot and the peek-a-booos work great to reduce the heat of the inside of the boat, yet let the light come through. We are always getting compliments on the shades. We highly recommend the Zarcor winow treatments. We love our Peek-a-booos!

I first saw the peek a boos on a boat that was for sale we looked at. I loved them; I ordered them put them on our boat a 1978 43 Gulfstar MKII. They allow light in while still helping to keep out the hot TX sun. They give our boat a nice clean look both in the interior as well as the exterior. We still have privacy inside without losing the light. Installing them was super easy and took only a few minutes. I cannot wait to get them for our fixed ports we have in galley and nav station.

For the summer heat! I am totally please with the unique look and certainly with the functionality of these shades. They look great and minute we installed them the temperature dropped at least 10 degrees. On a follow up call i was tickled to find out John (owner) actual answered the phone and ensured my order was being taken care of. We have purchased a few items to include the Peek a Booos and highly recommend them.

Often the simplest inventions are the best. One of the best innovations we've ever seen at a boat show, were our Peek-A-Boo blinds. I hated the look of trying to put up sheers or curtains - our boat is too small for heavy window treatments. According to the Pee-A-Boo people, their shutters are made of durable lexan to withstand the harsh marine environment and are far superior to curtains or shades. Buying a new boat and the first things will go are the old musky curtains, on the Island Packet the made the boat so clean looking, highly recommend. Great at night or day, really helped keep the heat down. New boat is a 33'

John a note to say how everyone comments on my peek a boos. I think I was one of your first customers for them. They make the boat look bigger inside without the usual hanging drapes. Sometimes the sticky dots dry out, but you were kind enough to send me some extras. Also have the stern perch seat. All fit great on my 86 Catalina 30.

For the smaller porthole windows in the stateroom, we found a real cool solution to being able to see out and have privacy at the same time. We owe our discovery to DeFever owner friends we met while we were at Isle of Hope a few months ago. Thanks guys – we really owe you for the great tip! The porthole blinds are called Peek A Booo Shutters and they are easily applied and taken off for cleaning. If your boat (or boat to be) needs these, order them online from a company called Zarcor. Very reasonably priced – and so cool looking. We are very pleased and hope to send business your way!

These are one of the simplest and greatest comfort additions to my boat. Easy to install, fit well, and are clean looking and functional. Let's us sleep in a little in the mornings by keeping things a little darker and keeps the boat cooler in the heat of the day also by shading from the sun. Currently only have them on my standard portlites in the VBirth and Head but have plans to add some custom shapes for my main salon deadlites. I have the convenience of living in the DFW area and so can avoid shipping charges by dropping by Zarcor and picking them up myself. They simply call me when my order items are ready and I swing by at my convenience to pick them up. They are friendly and fun to meet and even stayed a little after hours once for me to make a pickup...and shared a free beer with me!

I had seen the shutters fitted to another Caliber sailboat prior to purchase. I found them easy to fit and they look smart. Very happy with the product so far.

I have purchased the peek-a-boo shutters maybe 10 years ago and never regretted the day. They are simple to operate and fully functional. Over the years a few velcro dots (is that a word??) have lost their grip, but were easily swapped with newer ones. A simple mail to Zarcor gave me a new bunch in the mailbox. We have spread the word in the Netherlands and now many Island Packets can be seen using your peek-a-boos.

While driving our newly purchased 35 Albin from Rhode Island to Florida this past Fall, we were without any window treatments, and therefore subject to no privacy. When I mentioned it to friends via email, they told us about Peek-a-Booos, and we ordered them on the way. We received them when we got to our home in Florida, and we love them. Our only regret is that we didn't know about them sooner!

The Admiral absolutely loves them. Would like to have them on all hatches and ports. This product delivers what it claims.

We've had ours on our IP-350 or more than 3 years. Not a minutes problem. Keep the sunlight and heat out but when open they obstruct little if any.

We were looking for a simple yet effective way to provide additional privacy and to block sunlight in the salon, staterooms and heads of our Hunter 410. Zarcor had the best solution with their Peek a Booo Shutters. John Halter and Zarcor were a pleasure to work with. All ports and side windows were measured and templates made where necessary. Shutters were delivered and installation was a breeze! The shutters were installed over 5 years ago and look and operate as good as the very first day. We highly recommend these shutters to all of our boating friends!

We are on a sailboat with 15 ports. Privacy and UV protection were a major concern when we were outfitting the boat for our Caribbean adventure. These shutters have been very effective in keeping the damaging UV rays out of our cabin and also help to keep it cool and keep the sun out of our eyes. We can sleep in a little later thanks to the room darkening shades in the v-berth. I would recommend them to anyone looking for privacy and UV protection. Very good investment.

Great product

I bought my peek-a-boo shutters about 6 years ago. I was pleased with them when I installed them, and I still like them. They have held up quite well. One of the small "buttons" used to close the shutters has come off, but that's a 2-second fix with a dab of glue. Other than that, they've been maintenance-free. I would buy them again.

I purchased these for our Tartan 3400 (2006). Both my wife and I like the simplicity, the clean look, the privacy, and the ease of installation (no holes). One of the best features is they don't interfere with the opening of ports. They have been a real hit at our marina once our friends had an opportunity to see them in operation. Two of our friends, owners of Catalinas 34 & 30, have already ordered the shades for their boats.

Peek-a-Boo shutters were the first cabin improvement I made on my newly purchased boat in 2000. I loved that they blended in with the cabin's curvature, were easy to clean and very easy to open and close. During the 10 years they have been installed on my boat I have only had to reattach a couple of the tab connectors (and those were sent to me free of charge by Zarcor - talk about service!). The shutters were easy to install and are truly great products. The only slight negative about this product is, when they are open, they do reduce the available sunlight entering the port. (when you might want light).

We put Peek-a-Boo shutters on our 30' Catalina. They replaced tired curtains. Great for keeping out the extreme ultra violet rays in sunny San Diego. Two neighbors in our Yacht Club ordered them after seeing ours. Only problem is that after several years the little velcro fasteners are losing their ability to stick to the windows. We mentioned it to ZACOR and they sent some replacement fasteners right away. So we are pleased and would order them for our next boat.

I got a flyer from the Annopolis Boat show and ordered the shutters for our 43 Taswell. We had purchased the 1990 boat in 07 and I think the port covers were original to the vessel and they disintergated in the wash. I love the peek a boo shutters, they were easy to measure, order and install. We have had them on since 08 and they have been in very cold (VA/MD winters) to very hot (Florida) summers and I have had no problems at all. They clean easily and go great with the rest of the salon. Great product.

After replacing the old mildew ridden curtains in my Catalina 30 with the Peek-a-Booo kit, it became immediately clear that I had made the right choice. The bride loves them too. She says they make me look sexier. . .go figure.

We recently bought a 1996 Gemini 105M catamaran. The old shades were drooping and very unattractive. We had met two other couples who had Peek-a-Booo shutters on their boats and we were impressed! After reading the Zarcor website, we decided to order the shutters for all of our windows on the Gemini. We recently received them and found the installation was quite easy. John had told us he would be available if we needed help or had questions, but we were able to put them up with no problem. They really look great, whether they are open or shut. The shutters actually make our boat look bigger! It is so nice to know that we won't have to worry about drooping shades anymore. The shutters are really attractive. Linda and I purchased the Shutters as a Christmas present to ourselves for our cruising catamaran. They are all we expected. The only problem we had was that the reccommended temperature to apply the Shutters is above 50 degrees, so we had to wait until spring. We have had them on for almost a year and they are working perfectly. Even when closed they let enough difused light in that no lights are required. They were easy to measure, order and attach to the ports. They are perfect for maintaining privacy at the dock, without having to pull down a shade to darken the inside of the boat. I saw these at the Miami Boat Show in 2006 and put them on my new boat last year.

These are GREAT! I had them custom made to fit my large side cabin windows on a Columbia 57. They work well and give nice light but total privacy in the main cabin. Perfect for liveaboards in a tight marina situation.

We have a small boat, a Precision 21, on which we occasionaly over night in a slip. Without intruding into an already small cabin the Peek a Boo Shutters give us privacy from dock walkers and slip neighbors. When open they allow visibility just as the brochure says. You just don't notice the vertical stripes. Ours weren't an exact fit so we bought a paint pen from a hobby craft store and "painted" a white border around the port opening. Any discrepancy is not noticed. I would definately recommend them and would but them again for a boat of any size.

Great product. We ordered ours in Annapolis and John processed the order given the info we gave him. The engineer called to clarify the year and model boat and we had the product promptly. However, the forward hatch was for the wrong type hatch. We called, the engineer said to make a template and send back. I mentioned that I was going to St. Pete boat show and he said bring it there for John. When we got there, john said to send it back to Zarcor address as they weren't taking stuff back. Just make sure you send a template with your order.

We've had Peek-a-Booo Shutters throughout our Island Packet 485 since we commissioned her in 2004. While Zarcor had the shutters for our port lights in stock, we had to have them custom made to fit into the large windows in our main salon. We sent a paper template, and had the finished product back in less than two weeks. They fit extremely well and look great. Additionally, they have stood up to 15000 ocean miles as we've cruised Mexico, over to Hawaii and the Pacific Northwest. We love them and highly recommend them.

Great device. Gives the privacy you want in the slip and shades from the daily sun that will destroy the interior fabrics. I would buy again if I had too.

We used these in our cabana bath room glass door. Clean, let in light allowed us to open up to more light when we needed it. Cost wise it was less expensive that other window coverings.

I met you and your wife at the 2009 Miami boat show while helping at the Seawind exhibit. I fell in love with your shutters and decided to just order two to see how we liked them after going through a wet winter. I was afraid that they might get moldy between the surfaces. But, they are great!

Great product and excellent customer service. I have been restoring my 1983 Ericson 28+ for the last 12 years. I installed (7) New Found Metal Ports, (stainless steel) and just installed the Peek a boo Shutter on all of the ports. They work well, look great and really protect the interior from the harmful UV rays on the Chesapeake Bay. They where quick and easy to install, easy to use, and I think very economic. They protect my boat and keep it cooler. I have owned and restored 10 sail boats. This is the BEST port hole treatment I have found.

They give us the privacy we sought, and were easy to install.

The Peek-a-Booos on our hatches do such a great job keeping the heat out. We had to install them on all portlights and hatches.

We can't begin to say how functional these are and an asset/must have for any boat owner.

We are so happy we bought the Peek-a-Boo shutters. They make a big difference in the temperature especially in August in the Chesapeake Bay.

I have Peek-A-Booo shutters and they're great. No curtains hanging down, getting in the way, no need to worry about fabric deteriorating and allowing UV through. Open or closed, the plastic keeps the UV down to a minimum. The shutters work very simply. You stick the two-layer assembly to the glass with small adhesive tipped supports. When they are open you see opaque stripes alternating with clear stripes, when closed you see opaque plastic all the way. Sort of like vertical window shades. I like them a lot. They do look distinctive when open, giving the ports a striped look, and look great closed too, very neat.

I love the shutters. They fit perfectly and look great.

We installed the Peek-A-Boo shutters on our IP27 and we have only one comment on them.....WOW!!!!!!!! THEY ARE WONDERFUL!! THEY REALLY CLEAN UP THE CABIN AND LOOK GREAT INSIDE AND OUT. We highly recommend them as they work great and are reasonable.
