  1. What are the benefits of CloZures shutters?
    • They offer 100% privacy.
    • Totally eliminate UV damage to interior of your boat.
    • Reduce interior heat (especially with hatch shutters). Your air conditioner will love you.
    • Enhance your boat’s appearance. They give the boat a clean contemporary look.
  2. What are the physical characteristics of CloZures shutters?
    • CloZures shutters are manufactured to the exact size of your port light using UV inhibited (.030) Lexan® (polycarbonate).
    • The Lexan is silk screened in alternating increments with a (grade #7) UV paint. Color = Sea Shell.
    • All layers have .0250" separations to prevent condensation. Total unit thickness = .1875" (3/16)
    • A series of fasteners allows the CloZures to:
      • Be fastened to the port light glass / Plexiglas.
      • Hold one layer stationary.
      • Allow the second layer to move producing an open / close effect.
    • CloZures shutters are easily installed. Remove liner from acrylic adhesive, then press to clean glass. Installation temperature = 55+ degrees (before acrylic adhesive activates). Working temperature = -20 to +120 degrees.
  3. How long have CloZures been on the market?
    • Since 2006. They were tested in Dallas for 1 year (summer temperature = 95+ degrees) prior to bringing to market.
    • CloZures shutters have been installed on over 1,000 + boats.
  4. Is there a 50% viewable loss due to the vertical strips?
    • No there is not. (Unless you have the use of only one eye). Peripheral vision allows you to see every thing beyond the shutter.
    • The port light is often open allowing an un-obstructed view.
    • The shutter is now easily removed. On Jan 1, 2001 we began adhering the shutters with a new industrial product from 3M. It is a low profile, single piece, hook & loop, with acrylic adhesion. So now if you wish to watch the sunset through the port light, simply remove the shutter. Our experience shows that the CloZures shutters are almost never removed.
  5. Do CloZures™ make the boat 50% darker?

No they do not. We do not sell CloZures shutters as room darkeners. If you close all the shutters on your boat on a bright sunny day the interior of your boat will not be black. When the shutters are closed, they totally block out the sun’s heat and UV rays, but they still allow 60% of the illumination to come into the boat. Translucency and the UV grade of paint are relational. When the CloZures shutters are in the open position your boats interior brightness will be reduced by only 15% not 50%.

  6. Do you sell Room Darkening shutters?

Yes we do. These shutters will block 75% of the light.

  7. What kind of maintenance is required?
    • CloZures shutters require less maintenance than curtains. They are dust and spider free. That’s correct, SPIDER FREE! There is something about the CloZures shutters that spiders just do not like.
    • Clean the CloZures shutters when needed with Glass Plus™. It is ammonia and phosphate free.
  8. What is your satisfaction and warranty policy?
    • As with all of our products, we guarantee your satisfaction or return the purchase within 30 days for a full refund.
    • We warrant our products for 1 year from date of purchase, against defective material and workmanship.
